Nintendo has announced their next console, the Nintendo Switch. This will be both a home and handheld console that can switch betwen being connected to a television (via a docking station) and to a handheld portable that has controllers that can be attached to the screen to function as a handheld or can detach the controllers from the sides of the screen for an alternate style or two player play!

The conosle has moved away from disks and towards a custom cartridge like the Nintendo DS and the 3DS use. 

This looks like a really interesting and inovative concept. Unfortunately it will not be on sale in time for the holiday season this year. The console is scheduled to be launched in March of 2017.
